ATHENS, GA. – Campbell stands sixth overall after day one at the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimming and Diving Championships.
Campbell totaled 98 points in just two events on day one. Florida Gulf Coast leads the field with 189 points, followed by Liberty at 179, Incarnate Word with 169 and Georgia Southern with 163.
Gardner-Webb sits just in front of the Camels at 106, while UNC Asheville (94), North Florida (90), Howard (80), VMI (66) and North Carolina A&T (66) round out day one standings.
Campbell finished sixth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.60. The Camels then took fifth in the 800 freestyle relay, posting a 7:32.54 mark. FGCU topped both relay events Wednesday.
Day two of the CCSA Championships gets underway at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m., starting with the 500 freestyle preliminaries. The event finals for day two will start at 6 p.m.
