Camels set relay record on day two at CCSA meet

ATHENS, GA. – Campbell notched a school record in the 200 freestyle relay, highlighting the second day of the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimming and Diving Championships.

Michelle Case, Sindija Silina, Alice Rigback and Kat Costin turned in a Campbell record 1:33.77, placing third for the Camels' first medal of the week.

Five Camels placed in the 50 free, paced by Alice Rigback's 23.90 in the event's finals, finishing 12th. Kat Costin (23.93) and Sindija Silina (23.97) followed in 13th and 14th.

Geena Squarinto posted a 5:05.22 in the 500 free finals, finishing eighth after narrowly missing a CU record in the preliminary round with a 4:57.73. Caroline Clark led the way for CU in the 200 IM, finishing 12th with a 2:05.07.

Campbell owns 257 points through two days, trailing Incarnate Word's 266. Florida Gulf Coast leads the way with 610 points, followed by Liberty (468), Georgia Southern (349) and Gardner-Webb (277).

North Florida ranks seventh with 188, followed by UNC Asheville (173), North Carolina A&T (106), VMI (100) and Howard (80).

The CCSA Championships will continue with the third day of action on Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m., starting with the 400-yard individual medley preliminary. The event finals for day three will start at 6 p.m.
