Latorre, Camels finish third at Amelia National

FERNANDINA BEACH, FLA. – Louise Latorre finished third individually and Campbell tied for third in the team standings after Tuesday's final round of the Amelia Island Collegiate women's golf tournament.

Latorre produced her best finish of the year and Campbell placed among the top five teams for the fifth time in six outings.  A junior from Pau, France, Latorre shot 72-73-73—218 on the par-72, 6029-yard Tom Fazio designed Amelia National Golf Club.  She finished three strokes behind medalist Ji Sun Kang of Daytona State (68-68-79—215).

North Florida (285-294-300—879) claimed team honors by five strokes over runner-up Cincinnati (884).  Campbell (295-296-304—895) tied with Kennesaw State for third, one stroke ahead of Bradley in the 16-team field.

Campbell tied for second in the field as a team with 168 pars and in par-three scoring (9-over).  Latorre made 40 pars in the 54-hole event, which was the second-most in the 86-golfer field.  She played the par-three holes even (tied for 7th) and was four-over on the par-four layouts (T10th).

Sophomore Annelie Sjoholm (73-76-76—225) tied for 22nd place, marking her sixth-straight top-25 effort this season.  She made 34 pars over the two-day event.  Junior Nadine White played the par-three holes at one-under and tied for 26th overall (74-75-77—226). 

Senior Tahnia Ravnjak had 35 pars and tied for 38th (76-75-78—229). Sophomore Ayelen Irizar tied for 48th (79-73-80—232).  Playing as an individual, freshman Anna Svanka tied for 64th (87-78-73—238) after shooting her collegiate low round Tuesday.  She played the par-five holes at 5-under for the tournament, tied for the best score in the field.

The Camels continue their spring season in the UNF Collegiate, Mar. 7-8 at Jacksonville (Fla.) Golf & Country Club.
