ORLANDO, FLA. – Annelie Sjoholm is tied for 22nd individually and Campbell is in 15th place in the team standings after Monday's second round of the UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek Golf Club.
In an event that includes eight of Golfstats' top-50 schools, including No.-46 Campbell, the Camels are tied with Mississippi State heading into Tuesday's final round on the par-72, 6349-yard Eagle Creek layout.
A sophomore from Vasteras, Sweden, Sjoholm ranks second in the 96-golfer field with 29 pars. She is five-over par (149) through 36 holes after following Sunday's 74 with a 75 on Monday.
With wind gusting to more than 20 miles an hour Monday, only four players in the field are below par through 36 holes. Co-leaders Michelle Butler of Missouri (71-70—141) and Frida Gustafsson Spang of East Carolina (73-68—141) stand at 3-under, one stroke in front of Augusta's Josefine Nyqvist (74-68—142).
No.-25 Missouri (301-283—584) owns a three-stroke lead over Tulane (302-285—587) heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes. No.-15 Iowa State (301-287—588) is third, followed by No.-42 Houston (295-295—590).
Campbell (312-299—611) and Mississippi State (316-295—611) are five strokes behind No.-29 Miami (310-296—606) and Minnesota (307-299—606), which are tied for 13th.
The Camels have combined for 114 pars, fourth-best in the event.
Campbell juniors Louise Latorre (77-77—154) and Tahnia Ravnjak (78-76—154) are tied for 51st place, while sophomore Ayelen Irizar (83-74—157) is tied for 77th and junior Nadine White is tied for 80th (84-74—158).
