Campbell finishes 11th at UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, FLA. – Annelie Sjoholm earned her fourth-straight top-20 individual finish and Campbell moved up to 11th in the team standings after Tuesday's final round of the UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

In an event that included eight of Golfstats' top-50 schools including No.-46 Campbell, the Camels finished in a tie for 11th place with No.-29 on the par-72, 6349-yard Eagle Creek layout.  No.-42 Houston (295-295-295—885) won the 18-team event by one stroke over runner-up Tulane (302-285-299—886).  No.-25 Missouri was third (301-283-306—890), followed by No.-39 Texas (299-297-295—891).

Campbell (312-299-298—909) finished in front of Big Ten Conference members Minnesota and Wisconsin, plus SEC member Mississippi State.

A sophomore from Vasteras, Sweden, Sjoholm finished seventh in the 96-golfer field with 38 pars.  She made four birdies and nine pars Tuesday to close out the event at 7-over 223 (74-75-74).

Only medalist Frida Gustafsson Spang of East Carolina (73-68-72—213) finished in red numbers.  Runner-up Michelle Butler of Missouri was 3-over on Tuesday and completed the event at even-par 216 (71-70-75).

Campbell junior Louise Latorre (77-77-73—227) shot the team's low round of the day and finished in a tie for 37th place.  She made three birdies and 10 pars Tuesday.  Senior Tahnia Ravnjak had 16 pars and two bogeys in a final-round 74 and tied for 41st place (78-76-74—228). Her 37 pars over 54 holes tied for ninth in the field.

Junior Nadine White tied for 72nd (84-74-77—235), while sophomore Ayelen Irizar tied for 77th (83-74-79—236).

Campbell continues its spring campaign Feb. 22-23 in the Amelia Island Collegiate.
