DAVIDSON, N.C. – The women's tennis team fell to Davidson 5-2 on Friday afternoon. The Camels move to 7-4 on the season while the Wildcats improve to 9-2.
Campbell held a one-point advantage heading into the singles after picking up the doubles point. Irina Karangozishvili and Nina Asanin won 7-5 over Elaina Cummer and Sarah Stein. Maud Mrad and Ewa Telenga won on court three over Gabrielle Centenari and Jenna Brunner 6-3.
Davidson came back over Campbell in the singles matches winning five of the six to claim the 5-2 victory. Karangozishvili picked up her eighth win in singles after defeating Feaster on court one (7-6 (4-2), 6-4).
The Camels return to the courts as the host Coastal Carolina on March 16 for a Big South midweek conference match. First serves are set for 3 p.m. at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center in Buies Creek.
