BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- Campbell was dealt a 57-32 loss by Radford in both team's 2015-16 regular season finale at Gore Arena. Summer Price scored in double figures for the seventh-straight game with 13 points for the Lady Camels (12-17, 7-13 BSC).
Before the game was even played, Campbell was already locked into the eighth seed for next weekend's Big South Championship in Asheville, North Carolina. The Lady Camels will take on ninth-seeded Coastal Carolina in Thursday's first round matchup at 2 p.m. CU won both regular season games with the Chanticleers.
Prior to the game the Lady Camels honored their three seniors, RaeChaun Edwards, Jessica Pone and Jewell Yarborough, who were playing in their final game at Gore Arena. Despite an injury, Edwards started her final game at Campbell. Pone finished with two points with a rebound and a steal while Yarborough tallied a bucket and pulled down a pair of rebounds.
Amanda Coffer tallied six points for CU while Krystal Mangum finished with five. Price added a team-high seven rebounds while Coffer tallied four blocks. MaKala Rouse dished out three assists.
Jayda Worthy scored 17 points for Radford (17-12, 13-7), who clinched the third seed in the Big South Championship with the win. Janayla White added 12 points while Lydia Rivers pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
After an early 8-2 deficit, the Lady Camels suffered through a pair of long scoring droughts as the Highlander advantage grew to double digits for the first time in the contest. A three from Jordan Toohey in the final minute of the opening stanza gave Radford a 15-4 lead after one period of play.
In the second, the Radford lead sat at 15 before a Mangum three cut the deficit to 26-14 with 4:10 left in the frame. Worthy answered quickly with a three on the other end before a pair of Pone free throws drew CU back within 11 with two minutes left in the second.
The lead was still 11 after a Price layup before White recorded a bucket with 27 seconds left in the first half to send the Highlanders to the break with a 31-18 advantage. Price finished with half of the Lady Camels' first half points.
After an early third period jumper by Tiffany Daniel, Radford scored six-straight points to take a 37-20 advantage 5:59 left in the third. Following a Price layup, the Highlanders scored 14-straight points to pull ahead by a commanding 51-22 margin at 7:25 on the clock in the fourth.
Back-to-back Coffer threes broke up a nearly 10-minute scoring drought as the Radford lead stood at 51-28 with 6:26 left to play. The Higlander lead hit it largest margin of the game at 57-30 with 2:24 left to play before Yarborough closed out the scoring with the jumper at 1:31 on the clock.
