BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell track & field hosts its annual Campbell Invitational, April 15-16, at the Irwin Belk Track in Buies Creek. Campbell welcomes a field of nine other schools from across the region, these schools include, Duke, Wake Forest, Elon, Charleston Southern, UNC Pembroke, Belmont Abbey, Mount Olive, Shaw and Louisburg.
The meet is set to begin Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and men's shot put. Also at 3 p.m. will be the women's pole vault and women's long jump. At 5 p.m., the men's hammer throw and women's shot put will commence along with the men's pole vault and men's long jump.
Saturday's events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's javelin throw, followed by the women's triple jump at 11 a.m. The running events for the weekend begin at 12 p.m. Saturday afternoon with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, followed by the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The throwing events will conclude at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon with the men's discus throw and the jumping events will finish with the men's high jump at 3:30 p.m. The meet's final event is set for 4:55 p.m., the men's 4x400-meter race.
Campbell will also recognize its five senior student-athletes during the meet. These seniors include Evan Darm, Nathan Kennedy, Jaszlyn Jenkins, Tashinga Chitambria and Alfreda Hagans.

Along with the home meet, Campbell's Amon Terer, Lawrence Kipkoech and Joan Maritim are competiting in various distance events at the Mt. Sac Relays in Norwalk, Calif. Terer competed in the 10,000-meter race late Thursday evening and claimed fifth overall with a new school and personal record of 28:54.42. Kipkoech will compete in the 5,000-meter race at midnight eastern time Friday evening. Maritim is scheduled to compete in the women's 1500-meter race and the women's 5,000-meter race this weekend.
Last week at the Aggie Invitational, Campbell's Lilla Juhasz set a new season best in the 100-meter hurdles with her time of 13.39 seconds, with her time she sits in the top-25 in the NCAA East Region. Davian Rhodes took home first place in the men's high jump, clearing the 2.05-meter mark in his second attempt. Tashinga Chitambria tied a season best in the 100-meter dash as he finished with a time of 10.63 seconds.
