BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell track & field continues its impressive outdoor season as they travel to the Duke Invitational April 22-23 in Durham, N.C. A representative from Campbell will be competing in the Virginia Challenge April 22-23.
At the Virginia Challenge, Jacob Kipserem will run in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, an event he won last weekend at the Campbell Invitational. He is the lone Fighting Camel at this meet, as the rest of the squad will compete at the Duke Invitational.
Last week at the Campbell Invitational, four student-athletes set top-25 regional marks, setting them up for NCAA East Regional competition in May. Campbell also grabbed three of the four Big South Athlete of the Week honors for the top performances during the prior weekend.
Sabina Allen set a new personal best and school record in the triple jump at 13.09-meters. Tatiana Wolfe broke her previous school record in the 400-meter hurdles with her time of 59.43 seconds. Lilla Juhasz set a new season best and top-25 mark in the 100-meter hurdles with her 13.47 seconds. On the men's side, Davian Rhodes set a new personal best in the high jump, with his mark of 2.14-meters. All four of these individuals set top-25 regional marks and are primed to be competing at the NCAA East Regional in May.
Also on the men's side, Amon Terer set a new personal best and school record with his 28:54.42 in the men's 10,000-meter race. He sits no. 3 in the entire NCAA for fastest times in the country among Division I competitors. He will also sits no. 38 in the nation and no. 18 in the east region in the men's 5,000-meter race and will be among the field of student-athletes at the NCAA East Regional.
Up next for Campbell is the Payton Jordan Invitational Sunday May 1 and the Liberty Twilight Qualifier May 4 in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Big South Outdoor Championships will take place May 10-12 in Lynchburg, Virginia at Liberty University.
