DURHAM, N.C. – A pair of Fighting Camels put themselves in NCAA East Regional contention with their performances at the Duke Invitational Saturday afternoon.
From the women's team, Shenelle McKay claimed a tie for second place in the high jump, with a new personal best of 1.74-meters. She now sits in the top-35 of the NCAA East Region. Also on the women's side, Joan Maritim claimed first place in the 5,000-meter race. She set the meet record by 2.93 seconds and broke her previous personal best by 4.14 seconds.
On the men's side, Khai McLin finished second overall in the men's 200-meter race, setting a new personal best of 21.09 seconds. With this time, he sits just within the top-48 of NCAA East Regional qualifiers for this event.
In the women's 800-meter race, Roshae Jackson set a new personal best with her time of 2:12.54. With that mark, she earned a top-10 finish. Kaelyn Yoder also set a personal best in the women's 800-meter race, beating her previous best by 2.05 seconds. Jaszlyn Jenkins set a new personal best in the women's long jump.
Tashinga Chitambira claimed third place in the men's 100-meter dash for the Fighting Camels with his time of 10.63 seconds. The men's 4x100-meter relay team claimed first place with their 40.71-second time, besting second place by .03 seconds.

The Campbell track & field team continues its outdoor season at the Payton Jordan Invitational May 1 and the Liberty Twilight Qualifier May 4, in preparation for the 2016 Big South Outdoor Championships May 10-12.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Jacob Kipserem represented Campbell at the UVA Challenge in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase event. Kipserem finished 26th overall in the race with his time of 9:17.63.
