CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Fighting Camels received the No. 5 seed for the second year in a row heading into the Big South Conference tournament. Competition begins on April 15 with first round play in matches at Hershey-Esbenshade Tennis Courts on the campus of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Campbell finished the season 11-8 in duals and 5-4 against conference opponents.
Tournament action begins on April 15 at 11 a.m. with No. 8 Longwood taking on No. 9 Radford with the winner facing No. 1 Liberty on Saturday, April 16, at 9 a.m. No. 7 Gardner-Webb and no. 10 Presbyterian follow on Friday at 2 p.m. deciding who will take on No. 2 Winthrop on Saturday at 12 p.m.
The Liberty Flames received the No. 1 seed going 8-1 in the conference with their only loss coming against the No. 4 seeded Buccaneers of Charleston Southern. The Flames shared the regular season title with the No. 2 seeded Winthrop who also 8-1 in the league. The Eagles dropped a 4-3 decision to the Flames for their only loss in conference action this season.
Claiming the No. 3 seed is Coastal Carolina with a 7-2 conference mark followed by Charleston Southern at No. 4. The Buccaneers also went 7-2 with losses to Winthrop (5-2) and Coastal Carolina (6-1). Campbell and Charleston Southern will square off in the Quarterfinals at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, with the winner advancing to the semifinals to face the winner of the No. 1 Liberty vs. No. 8 Longwood/No. 9 Radford match.
UNC Asheville received the sixth seed going 4-5 in conference action with Gardner-Webb taking the seventh spot. The Lancers from Longwood finished eighth in the conference with only two league wins while Radford came in ninth and Presbyterian rounding out the ranks at No. 10.
