BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell track & field will officially send 11 student-athletes to the 2016 NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla. May 26-28. The final participants were announced Thursday afternoon, including those who received entry based on declarations.
In total, Campbell will be featured in 12 events during the three-day meet. On the men's side, the Fighting Camels will send seven total student-athletes for seven different events. While on the women's side, Campbell will have four student-athletes in five events during the regional meet.
For the men, the following events will have representatives…
· 100-meter dash: Tashinga Chitambira recorded a time of 10.43 seconds, a personal best, during his preliminary race at the Big South Outdoor Championships.
· 200-meter dash: Khai McLin set a new personal best en route to his first place finish at the 2016 Big South Outdoor Championships. His time of 20.81 seconds is a personal best and places him in the midst of the East region rankings.
· 5,000-meter race: Lawrence Kipkoech and Amon Terer both sit in the top-30 of the region with their performances during the season. Kipkoech set his regional rank with his time of 13:57.77 set at the Mt. SAC Relays. Terer also qualified for regionals in this event with his personal best time of 13:58.32 that he ran at the Raleigh Relays.
· 10,000-meter race: Terer and Kipkoech have top-10 times in the region in this event. Terer's time of 28:54.42 is a personal best and new school record and it ranks him top-5 in the region. Kipkoech is top-10 in the region after his personal best time of 29:11.00 set at the Raleigh Relays.
· 4x100-meter relay: The men's 4x100-meter relay team set a new Campbell record at the Big South Outdoor Championships with their time of 40.08 seconds. The team consists of Lorne Jenkins, Chitambira, McLin and Fabian Jarrett.
· High Jump: Davian Rhodes cleared the 2.15-meter mark at the Big South Outdoor Championships, setting a new personal best and Matthes-Hopkins Track facility record.
· Triple Jump: Lorne Jenkins has a new personal best and school record jump of 15.35-meters, a mark he set at the Big South Outdoor Championships.
For the women's side, the following events will have representatives…
· 100-meter hurdles: Lilla Juhasz won the gold medal for this event at the Big South Outdoor Championships with her time of 13.46 seconds. With that time she set a season-best in this event.
· 400-meter hurdles: Tatiana Wolfe ran a school record and personal best time of 59.43 seconds at the Campbell Invitational, taking first during the event at the meet.
· 10,000-meter race: Joan Maritim set a new school record in the women's 10,000-meter race at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier with her time of 34:55.85.
· Long Jump: Sabina Allen's 6.18-meter mark during the Campbell University Invitational is a new school record and personal best for her.
· Triple Jump: Allen set a new school record and personal best by way of her 13.09-meter jump at the Campbell University Invitational.

This is the most regional events in which Campbell has at least one participant and the most student-athletes to qualify since 2005 when Campbell sent eight competitors to the meet.
