BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels will take over the David Glenn Show for "Campbell Day" on Friday, July 8, as part of the "2016 Voices of North Carolina" tour. Campbell head football coach Mike Minter and "Voice of the Fighting Camels" Chris Hemeyer will co-host the show which airs from noon – 3 p.m. on 14 stations across North Carolina.
The three hour radio show will feature interviews with former Carolina Panthers teammates of Mike Minter, and Campbell alums both in and out of the sports world. Guests include Fred Whitfield, President of the Charlotte Hornets and a former Campbell basketball standout, Web.com Tour golfer and CU alum Brad Fritsch, Campbell head wrestling coach – and former Olympian – Cary Kolat, plus Director of Athletics Bob Roller, with more to be announced.
The David Glenn Show is one of the largest regionally syndicated sports radio programs in the nation, heard on 25-plus AM/FM signals in more than 200 cities and towns across North Carolina, plus parts of South Carolina and Virginia. In 2014, David Glenn helped launch and serves as game-day host for the Big Tailgate Tour, which brings a unique brand of fun, contests, excitement and prizes to universities and fans across North Carolina for games and special events. The Big Tailgate Tour made a stop at Barker-Lane Stadium during the 2015 Campbell football season.
In addition to Campbell, other North Carolina schools to participate in the "Voices of North Carolina Tour" are Elon (July 5), Wake Forest (July 6), Duke (July 7), Appalachian State (July 11), North Carolina (July 12), East Carolina (July 13) and NC State (July 14).
