BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels host their final exhibition match against the East Carolina Pirates Saturday, August 13 at 7 p.m. at the Eakes Athletic Complex.

Campbell is coming off of a 1-1 draw in its opening exhibition against the UNC Greensboro Spartans on August 10. Sophomore defender Amanda Crecelius connected on the Camels' only goal, an unassisted blast inside the left post from 20 yards out.

Head coach Stuart Horne and his staff got a look at nearly every player on the roster, as 30 different Camels saw action against the Spartans. The team combined for six total shots with four on frame, while the Spartans had five of 13 shots on goal.

The Camels own a 5-9-1 record against the Pirates in regular season play. The most recent contest occurred in 2014, a 1-0 victory for ECU.

The Pirates posted a 8-10-2 record last season and went 3-5-1 in American Conference action. Head coach Rob Donnenwirth enters his 18th season as the head coach of the women's soccer program at ECU, and has guided the Pirates to 10 or more victories nine times.

East Carolina returns leading goal-scorer Lana Spitler, who was recently named to the American Conference Preseason All-Conference team. She tallied 16 points last season with six goals and four assists. The Pirates' recruiting class features seven freshmen, who will face a challenge in replacing NSCAA All-Northeast Region honoree Kendall Frey, who amassed 17 points on six goals and five assists in 2015.

Following the exhibition, the Camels will continue training sessions throughout the week in preparation for the regular season opener at Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 19. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell women's soccer, follow @GoCamelsWSOC on Twitter.
