BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University Athletics has announced a number of initiatives designed to enhance the total fan experience at Barker-Lane Stadium for the 2016 season.
Here are just some of the highlights for the 2016 football season at Barker-Lane Stadium:
• Tunnel Under 421 – Construction of the pedestrian tunnel under U.S. 421 has been completed. The tunnel will provide a safer way for Campbell students and fans to cross U.S. 421 between the university and the football stadium.
• Campbell Student Tailgate Area presented by Modern Woodmen – The grass lawn between Burkot Hall and U.S. 421 will be reserved for Campbell students to tailgate prior to each home game this season. There will be a live DJ, yard games and other opportunities for students to get involved with Campbell Athletics presented by Modern Woodmen. All spaces will be first-come, first-served.
• Videoboard – Campbell Athletics has added a new Daktronics videoboard to the end-zone of Barker-Lane Stadium this season. The videoboard will allow for more video content, instant replays and a better experience for our fans.
• Concessions - There are a variety of new concessions items to be on the look-out for at Barker-Lane Stadium this year. Aramark has announced the introduction of a new hot chocolate/cappuccino machine on the visitor side of the stadium and a Papa John's Pizza trailer located on the home side of the stadium. There will be protein bar options as well as a new cream cheese filled pretzels for fans to enjoy. Be sure to stop by the concession stands on either side of Barker-Lane this year to see what they have to offer.
• Campbell Football Helmet Inflatable – The Campbell football team will take the field through a new inflatable football helmet this year. The helmet was designed to look exactly like the helmet the team will be wearing each and every home game this season. The helmet will also be used at a variety of events around the community to continue to promote Campbell Athletics and Campbell Football in particular.
• Camel Rewards - The Campbell Athletics Department is proud to announce the launch of the new 'Camel Rewards,' application, an Apple and Android app that rewards Campbell students and fans for attending Camel athletics events and other campus activities. Additionally, the app provides and fan cam feature that will enable fans to display their photos on the new videoboards at Barker-Lane Stadium and Gore Arena. Fans will also have access to offers from Campbell sponsors.
• Ticket Mini-Plans – The Campbell Athletics Ticket Office is proud to introduce two mini-plan options for our fans to purchase this year. Both are on sale for only $30. The 'Orange Plan' is reserved benchback seating for the Sept. 17, Sept. 24 and Nov. 19 home games. The 'Black Plan' is reserved benchback seating for the Sept. 24, Nov. 5 and Nov. 19 home games. • New Radio Station – New for 2016, every Campbell football game, both home and away, can be heard live on 88.3 FM. Each broadcast starts 30 minutes before kick-off with the Bojangles' Tailgate Show. Then tune in after the game for the Buffaloe Lanes post-game show for interviews with players and head coach Mike Minter.
