LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Eight Campbell softball players earned NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete award for their academic achievements during the 2015-16 year. During a calendar year, the student-athlete must have a 3.5 grade-point average or higher (4.0 scale) to qualify.
Two of the eight on the list are recent alumni of Campbell, as Courtney Roberts and Tori Griffin both earned this academic honor. Roberts graduated from Campbell with a B.A. in Studio Art and finished her final academic year with a 3.8 gpa. Griffin completed the 2015-16 year with a 4.0 gpa en route to her B.A. English degree.
Six other Camels were recognized on this list, including Abby Perryman, Caroline Smith, Amber Schisler, Katie Baker, Madison Casto and Megan Mozingo.
Perryman finished with a 4.0 gpa as she began her studies in Biology/Pre-Med. Smith finished the year with a 3.9 gpa during the 2015-16 year.
Schisler is currently pursuing her B.B.A. degree in Finance and completed the year with a 3.8 gpa. Baker is pursuing a double major in nursing and psychology and completed the last academic year with a 3.66 gpa. Casto finished the year with a 3.66 gpa along with teammate Mozingo who completed the year with a 3.6 gpa.
