BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- Cincinnati scored the game-winning goal with under a second remaining to claim a 17-16 victory over Campbell Sunday at Barker-Lane Stadium. Sarah Paul led the Camels with a career-high six goals.

Mackenzie Koeller put Campbell (0-4) up 16-15 on a free-position goal with 4:22 left to play. The Bearcats' (1-2) Amanda Donovan tied the game at 16-16 with 1:27 on the clock with an unassisted goal. The Camels won the ensuing draw, and with the shot clock turned off, elected to wait for a late attempt at the go-ahead goal.

It was Carter Koontz who would register the attempt for Campbell, but her shot with 28 seconds remaining went wide right and headed out of bounds. Both teams raced for the end line to try and earn possession and it would be Cincinnati that earned the ball.

The Bearcats raced down to their offensive zone and Katie Stegman received the ball about 15 yards out from the goal. She made a move to shake a defender and put a rocket on target that soared just past Camel goalkeeper Merredith Becher into the back of the cage with just .09 seconds on the clock.

Koeller finished with five points on four goals and an assist while Kayla Reilly scored three times and assisted on three goals. Melissa Placek had three assists and a team-high four draw controls while Megan Reilly led the way with four ground balls. Tina Ricci had a pair of goals and a pair of assists.

The largest lead for either side was the Camels' 11-7 halftime advantage after three-straight goals to end the first half. Cincy cut the deficit to 12-11 after a 4-1 spurt in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Bearcats took their first lead of the game at 14-13 midway through the final stanza after three unanswered goals.

Monica Borzillo and Gianna Napoletano led nine Cincinnati goal scorers with three goals apiece. Borzillo had a team-high five points with a pair of assists while Skylar DeLemos led all players with seven draw controls. Madison Foery earned the win in goal with six saves while Merredith Bechler took the loss despite 13 stops.

The Camels will return to action in a neutral site matchup against LaSalle in DeLand, Florida on Friday, March 10.
