Campbell finishes 10th at Sea Best Invitational

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. – Playing in a field that included seven schools ranked among the nation's top 50, Campbell finished 10th Tuesday in the Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley.

Second-ranked Florida (277-275-284—836) led all three rounds and claimed a nine-stroke victory over runner-up Lipscomb (278-283-284—845) in the 15-school field.  Campbell (296-285-294—875) finished 12 shots behind ninth-place Tennessee (863) and six ahead of 11th-place SMU.

Ryan Orr of Florida won individual honors at 6-under-par 204 (67-66-71), one stroke better than teammate Alejandro Tost (68-68-69—205).  Campbell sophomore Ray Kraivixien tied for 25th overall at 7-over-par 217 (72-73-72).  He made 39 pars, tied for fourth in the 83-golfer field.

Fellow sophomore Jesper Svensson turned in the Camels' low round of the day and finished in a tie for 28th place (76-71-71—218).  The native of Sweden played his final five holes at two under, and made 10 birdies overall in the 54-hole event, tied for sixth-most in the tourney.

Senior Gaston Bertinotti played the par-3 holes at one-under (tied for sixth) and finished in a tie for 36th (73-71-76—220) on the leader board.  Red-shirt freshman Brett McLamb tied for 45th (77-70-75—222). Senior Craig Hornberger tied for 70th (75-75-81—231).

Red-shirt freshman Brett McLamb shot a collegiate-low, even-par 70 on the 6873-yard layout in Monday's afternoon round for Campbell, which is competing against a field that includes seven top-50 ranked teams.

Campbell returns to Sawgrass Country Club Feb. 24-26 for The Haydt, one of the East Coast's premier collegiate events.
