BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Alex Yarem went the distance for a complete game shutout, Cole Hallum homered twice and Campbell evened its Big South series against Charleston Southern with a 6-0 win Saturday at Jim Perry Stadium.

Campbell moved to 13-14 overall and 3-2 in Big South play with the win, while Charleston Southern dipped to 14-11 on the season and 3-5 in Big South games. The Buccaneers claimed Friday's opener 12-6. The series concludes Sunday with game three, set for a 2 p.m. start.

Yarem (2-0), a redshirt sophomore, recorded his first complete game shutout, and Campbell's first shutout of the season in the win. The Apex, N.C. native surrendered five hits, struck out five and walked one in the win.

He faced more than four Bucs in an inning just once, allowing a pair of singles in the fifth.

Hallum belted two-run homers in the first and the third, collecting his second multi-home run game in as many weekends. His two-out homer down the line in left put Campbell on the board in the first. Again with two away in the third, Hallum cleared the wall in left-center for his seventh home run of the season, making it 4-0 Camels.

Hallum went 2-for-4 with a walk and four RBI in the win.

Adam Wyse gave Campbell a 5-0 lead in the fourth with a sacrifice fly, scoring Zach Minnick, who led off the frame with a double. Jeff Hahs extended the CU advantage to 6-0 with his fifth home run of the season, a one out solo shot in the bottom of the fifth.

Hahs went 1-for-3, knocking in one and scoring twice. Jimmy Monaghan also scored a run, going 1-for-4.

Kyle Dyson (1-1) was charged with the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and a walk in five innings. Cody Maw retired all nine of his batters to close the game for CSU, striking out seven.

The Camels will head to longtime rival UNCW on April 4, jumping back into Big South play on the road at High Point April 7-9.
