ROCK HILL, S.C. - Liberty claimed the doubles point and the first three singles matchups as Liberty swept Campbell, 4-0, to advance to the title match of the Big South Women's Tennis Championship.
Campbell (14-8, 6-2 Big South) closes out the season with the team's best overall record since the 2008 season when the Camels finished 16-8. CU's conference record marks the program's best league record since rejoining the Big South in 2012. In Campbell's final season as a member of the Atlantic Sun, CU posted an 8-2 mark in conference play.
Liberty opened the match by clinching the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 from First Team All-Conference Doubles Selection Maria Medina and Lara Soares. The Flames then claimed the opening three singles points to advance in the tournament.
Lou Regen closed out the season with a 14-5 record including a 13-4 mark at No. 3. Over her final ten matches, the Stockholm, Sweden native recorded an 8-0 record as a part of an eight-match win streak after not finishing both of her singles matchups in the conference tournament.
Georgina Segarra finished the season with a 12-6 overall record and a 9-5 mark at No. 6. Segarra played up at No. 5 three times this season where she picked up wins in all three of those matches. Over her final five matches, the Spaniard won four of the five including a clincher in the quarterfinal round against Radford.
Alexandra Andrivot sported a 9-5 mark at No. 2 as a part of a 10-9 overall mark. She finished the season riding a four-game win streak.
Lea Cutura and
Lou Regen paired to win their final six matchups as a part of an 11-7 record at No. 3 and overall.
Campbell ends the season after five different Camels picked up Big South All-Conference Honors.
Ana Castillo was named Big South Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Conference Singles.
Lou Regen picked up First Team All-Conference Singles honors.
Alexandra Andrivot picked up two honors by being named Second Team All-Conference Singles and First Team All-Conference Doubles alongside her partner
Isabel Boada.
Alexandra Nicoara was named to the All-Academic Team to close out the honors for the Camels.
