BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell extended its men's tennis win streak to four dual matches after a 5-2 victory over Winthrop Friday at the Nisbet Center.
 
In a rematch of last year's Big South Conference final, the defending champs won the doubles point and claimed four singles titles to earn their 10th victory in the last 11 outings.
 
Dustin Werner and Raphael Calzi improved to 10-4 in doubles with a 6-1 victory at the top spot before Bastien Huon and Ondrej Labik secured the point at number three.
 
Gerard Sola and Huon pushed the team score to 3-0 with straight sets wins in singles before the Eagles (7-10, 2-4) drew one back at the fifth position.  However, Ted Williams – who also provided the winning point in the 2018 final – claimed the all-important fourth team point with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph at number six.
 
Calzi added the fifth point of the day with a three-set win at the third position to run his win streak in singles to four matches.  Huon posted his 11th singles victory of the dual match season, while Calzi and Sola both improved to 10-5 on the spring campaign.
 
Campbell (11-4, 4-1) hosts Big South leading UNC Asheville (16-2, 3-0) Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
