BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Defending Big South champion Charleston Southern won the doubles point, then claimed four singles matches Monday in a 5-2 dual match victory over Campbell at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
The Bucs (8-3, 4-0) extended their win streak to four matches, while the Camels (5-7, 1-1) suffered their first setback after three-straight victories.
Campbell had won the doubles point each time in its three-match win streak, but one service break and a tiebreaker separated the teams in Monday's doubles.
In singles,
Marissa Pennings improved to a team-leading 8-4 in dual matches while extending her win streak to five with a straight-sets triumph at the second position.
Mialy Ranaivo won a third set super tiebreaker to deliver the other point for the Camels, who return to action Saturday at NC A&T with a 1:00 p.m. first serve.
