Camels fall at UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Campbell dropped a close 4-3 decision to UNCW Sunday in WIlmington. Campbell now sits at 7-7, 2-2 in the CAA this spring. 

The Seahawks took two of the three doubles matches to earn the point. Pieczynska and Ozel did earn a doubles win on court two. 

The teams split the singles matches, with UNCW winning on courts 1-2-3, and Campbell taking courts 4-5-6. Both Ozel and Maras earned their wins in three sets, with Aneca doing so in two.

UNCW nabbed courts 1 and 2 early to get just a point away from the win, but Maras and Aneca answered with wins on five and six, leaving it up to the middle courts to decide. UNCW clinched the win, as Kivity fell in three sets, dropping the third 7-5. Ozel gutted out her win on court four, winning her third set 7-5.

Campbell will now take a weekend off, before returning to action at home on April 6 against Hampton.
