Biography

Junior (2008): A member of the Atlantic Sun’s All-Academic Team....playedin 32 games with 13 starts...stole two bases...tied for fifth on the team inwalks with 15...went 1-for-2 with an RBI against Drexel (2/16)...knocked in a runin the first game against Winston-Salem State (2/26), her second start of theseason...she also scored a run against the Rams...In a 5-2 win at Santa Clara(2/29), pushed a run across with a double...went 1-for-3 with a walk againstNorth Dakota State (3/8) in CU’s 7-3 win...grabbed a hit with an RBI at FloridaGulf Coast (3/20) in her conference debut...also drew a pair of walks againstthe Eagles.

Sophomore (2007): Played in 40 games and started 21 ofthem...all starts came as the designated player...collected eight RBIs in 72appearances at the plate over the season...went 1-for-3 against St. Bonaventure(3/3), drove in both runs while also scoring a run...had her lone multi-hitperformance of the season against UNC Wilmington (3/7) in the second game of adoubleheader...had a hit in her only plate appearance against Gardner-Webb on(4/25) that helped lead the Camels to victory and clinch their trip to theA-Sun Conference Tournament... had two different multiple RBI games on the season(UNCG, Hartford)... hit .294, 5-for-17, coming off the bench as a pinch hitteron the season.

Freshman(2006): Playedin 46 games her rookie campaign making 41 starts with the majority (36) comingat third base...hit .224 on the season, which was sixth best on the team...Led theteam with eight doubles...finished fourth on the club with 18 RBIs and two homeruns...2-for-3 with a double and a home run in Campbell’s 5-0 win over Ohio...three-runhome run in CU’s 7-6 victory over Towson, also had a sacrifice fly to finishwith four RBIs...fifth on the team with seven multi-hit games and third with fivemulti-RBI games...perfect 2-for-2 from the plate and drove in a pair of runs inthe second game of a doubleheader against Charleston Southern...2-for-4 with bothof CU’s RBIs at South Carolina in a close 3-2 loss...season-high six assists withno errors against Jacksonville...recorded three putouts on five differentoccasion.

Prep/Personal: Attended East DavidsonHigh School...four-year letterwinner at shortstop for the Golden Eagles, helpingguide them to a third place finish in the state in 2004...set the North Carolinasingle-season home run record blasting 12 her junior and the North Carolinacareer homerun record with 26...hit .501 her senior year with 33 runs scored,seven doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 27 RBIs...was a career .483 hitterand finished with 116 RBIs, which ranks in the top five in the state...helpedguide team to a third place finish in the 2A Playoffs in 2004...named All-Conferenceand All-State in 2004...named All-County and All-Conference in 2003...named All-Regionand All-Conference in 2005...received the Eagle Award...also lettered involleyball for four years and basketball for two years...full name is AshleyNicole Jones...born 8/22/87 in Thomasville, N.C...daughter of William and AngieJones...has two siblings, Courtney and Jonathon...majoring in physical education.
