Katherine (Katie) Reynolds, MS, ATC, CSCS, LAT is in her first year at Campbell University. Her primary responsibilities include working with the women’s basketball and cross country teams.
Katie joined the Campbell staff after spending the past year and half as a Certified Exercise Reconditioning Specialist at Wounded Warrior Battalion-East (WWBn-E), Camp Lejeune, N.C. At WWBn-E, Katie was directly responsible for developing and implementing individual rehabilitation and reconditioning protocols for the Wounded Warrior Marines to assist them in successfully returning to duty or transitioning to civilian life.
Prior to her experience working with the military, Katie was the Head Athletic Trainer with the Somerset Patriots, an independent professional baseball club in the Atlantic League, located in Bridgewater, N.J. As the Head ATC with the Patriots, Katie was directly responsible for providing comprehensive medical coverage to the team, while also attending all home and away games. Katie was the first female Head Athletic Trainer to work within this organization since their inception in 1998. While working with the Somerset Patriots, Katie also served as an Approved Clinical Instructor and supervised graduate students interns completing their Masters of Athletic Training degree at Seton Hall University.
Katie also has previous experience working with NCAA Division I student-athletes, serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at University of Maryland Baltimore County for three years prior to her position with Somerset. While at UMBC, Katie worked primarily with the women’s basketball, softball and track & field programs. In 2011, she helped the women’s basketball team earn their first ever regular season women’s basketball conference title, as well as their first ever appearance in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).
A native of Bridgewater, N.J., Katie earned her Master of Science degree in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2008 and her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science with a Concentration in Athletic Training from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. At Florida, Katie served as the Head Athletic Trainer at two high schools in the Gainesville area. While at Pittsburgh, Katie completed clinical assignments as a student athletic trainer with the football, women’s basketball and softball programs.
Katie holds certifications and licensures from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners, National Strength & Conditioning Association and the American Heart Association. Katie has completed multiple continuing education courses including Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Kinesiotaping, and Graston Technique, as well as several others in the field of sports medicine, manual therapy and strength & conditioning.
