2006 Track & Field:  Named to the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team…redshirted the 2006 track and field season

2005 Cross Country: Atlantic Sun Runner of the Year winning the conference championship on her home course…set the Atlantic Sun record winning with a time of career-high 16:56 becoming the first women to run the championship race in under 17 minutes…named to the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team…three-time Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week, most of any runner in the conference…won four of her seven races entered and had six top 10 finishes…season-best 4K time came at the Winthrop Invitational where she finished second in 14:07.60…won the Campbell Invitational, Great American XC Festival and the Furman Invitational…placed 19th at the NCAA Regional with a time of 20:56.80

2005 Track & Field:An NCAA East Regional qualifier for the third consecutive season she placed 20th in the 3000 meter steeplechase and 16th in the 1500m… She is All-Atlantic Sun first team in the 1500m (4:31.98), second team in the 800m (2:13.77) and third team in the 3000m steeplechase (11:08.33)… Won the 5000m Indoor at the UNC Fast Times as an unattached runner during the Indoor season… won the UNCW Seahawk Invitational 1500m (4:31.43), the Wake Forest 1500m (4:34.55) and 5000m (17:07.57), the Liberty 800m (2:15.64), the A-Sun 1500m (4:31.98) and the George Mason 3000m steeple (10:41.48)… The 10:41.48 in the 3000m steeple is the fastest time for that event in school history.. She also holds the team’s fastest times in the indoor and outdoor 5000m (17:49.50 / 17:07.57), the 1500m (4:31.43) and the 800m (2:13.75)… Also earned Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team honors.    

 Earned bids to the NCAA East Regional in 2003 and 2004 … in the 2004 East Regional (5/28), finished 20th in the 1,500 meters (4:33.56) … in the 2003 East Regional, finished 29th in the 1,500 meters (4:42.37)… set her first individual Campbell record in the 800 meters (2:11.88) at the Georgia Tech Invitational (5/15/04) … two-time first-team All-Atlantic Sun performer in track who holds the league record in the 1,500 meters (4:30.12) … also a two-time all-conference performer in cross country … qualified for the 2003 NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regional but did not compete due to food poisoning … finished second (18:35) at the 2002 (5K) Atlantic Sun Conference Championships to earn A-Sun Freshman-of-the-Year honors … member of school record holding relay teams in the 4x800 meters, 4x1,500 meters, and the indoor and outdoor distance medley squads.

2004 Cross Country:Earned All-Academic Team honors but did not race for the Camels.

2004 Track & Field:A-Sun All-Academic Team member … first-team All-Atlantic Sun performer in the 1,500 meters (4:30.12) … broke her previous record in the event en route to capturing the 2004 title … competed in the 2004 NCAA East Regional Meet for the second consecutive year after being ranked 20th in the 1,500 meters … finished 20th with a time of 4:33.56 … set her first individual event Campbell school record when she broke former standout Heather Lee’s mark in the 800 meters … set the new standard at the Georgia Tech Invitational (5/15) with her time of 2:11.88 … helped set another relay record at the Penn Relays (4/23) as a member of the 4x1,500 meter relay squad … that marks the third relay record she has helped break at the Penn Relays during her career … also helped set a new school record in the indoor distance medley relay (12:20.47) set in CU’s opening meet of the indoor season (UNC Invitational, 1/31) … ran a personal-best time in the 1,500 meters (4:29.66) at the Stanford Cardinal Invitational (4/30) … finished fifth at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships (4/17) in the 800 meters (2:16.55) … picked up a first-place victory at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational (3/19) finishing the 1,500 meters in 4:35.21 … posted six top-10 finishes for the outdoor season including two 1,500 meter titles (A-Sun Championships and UNCW Seahawk Invitational) … finished 14th at the Adidas Raleigh Relays (3/27) in the 1,500 meters (4:32.70) … during the indoor season, ran in three meets highlighted by a 4:59.27 fifth-place section finish at the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame (2/7).

2003 Cross Country: A-Sun All-Academic team member … debuted second (15:15) at the Campbell Invitational (8/30) 4K … earned first-team all-conference honors by finishing third at the A-Sun championships (11/1) for her season-best 5K (17:54) … had three top-10 finishes in the season … placed 10th at the UNC Challenge (9/13) running the 5K in 18:58.

2003 Track & Field:Qualified for the NCAA East Regional meet … earned first-team All-Atlantic Sun honors by winning and setting a conference record in the 1,500 meters (4:31.57) … ranked first in the A-Sun in the 3,000 meters, second in the 5,000 meters, and third in the 1,500 meters heading into the conference meet … finished the season ranked 80th nationally in the 1,500 meters … member of the 4x800 and distance medley relay teams which set school records at the Penn Relays (4/26) … 4x800 team finished second in 9:01.16, while the distance medley team finished sixth (11:39.33) … the team’s time in the DMR was nearly 45 seconds faster than the previous eight-year standing record time of 12:28.66 … posted 11 top-10 finishes during the outdoor season and five during the indoor season … captured two event titles during the outdoor season: the A-Sun Championship 1,500 meters and the 800 meters (2:19.90) at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational (3/15) … also competed in the 400 meters at the CCU Invitational finishing sixth in 1:02.38 … posted her top time of the season in the 800 meters (2:16.38) at the Georgia Tech Invitational (5/17) … earned points for the Camels in the 800 meters (2:19.07) at the A-Sun Championships finishing fifth … ran a 4:33.67 1,500 meters at the Charlotte 49er Invitational (3/21) to finish third and recorded a 4:39.54 and a sixth place finish at the Clemson Orange & Purple Classic (5/10) … finished fourth in the 3,000 meters at the 49er Invitational (10:00.84) for her top time of the season … posted a solid indoor season coming off her successful cross country campaign … ran a PR in the mile (4:55.31) at the Arkansas Invitational (2/13) … finished fourth at the Carolina Fast Times (2/1) meet in the 800 meters (2:17.08), fourth in the mile (4:58.80) at the Tar Heel Classic (1/25), and sixth in the 3,000 meters (9:57.76) at the Virginia Tech Hokie Invitational (2/14) … also posted two other top-5 finishes for the season: second in the 3,000 meters (10:21.48) at the George Mason Father Diamond Invitational (1/11) and third in the 800 meters (2:19.39) at the Appalachian State Invitational (1/17).

2002 Cross Country:Recorded six top-10 finishes as a freshman … was the top CU finisher in each of team’s six races … made college debut at Campbell Invitational, running a 15:38 4K (sixth-place) … placed third at the Catamount Classic (9/7) after running a season-best 13:58 4K … paced the Camels to a third-place finish after running a 20:21 5.2K at the Wolfpack Invitational (9/21) … earned all-state honors by finishing ninth (18:18) at the North Carolina Collegiate Championships 5K (10/12).

Personal:  Alicia Marie Valtin was one of the top prep distance runners in the state as a senior at Western Harnett … prep coach was former Campbell all-conference performer Jeff Morris … won State 3-A title in 1,600 and 3,200 meters as a junior … four-time all-state performer in cross country and track … two-time state cross country champion … high school PRs of 5:06 (mile), 11:24 (3,200), 18:24 (5,000) … also was an all-region and all-conference forward on the Western Harnett soccer team … born Mar. 25, 1984 in Fayetteville, N.C. … majoring in elementary education.
