Ruppe coached the distance runners of Campbell to win five individual titles at the Big South Championships helping the men's team earn the program's first ever conference title. Kioko qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 3000m where he earned second team All-American status after finishing 15th.

Success from the indoor season carried over to the outdoor season as three distance school records were broken (Kioko - 10,000m, Ewoi - 800m and 1500m). Ruppe coached runners to win five individual event titles and seven to all-Big South honors. Kioko and Ewoi both qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary and then the NCAA Championships. Kioko earned first team All-American honors at the NCAA Championships after placing fifth in the country in the 10,000m and honorable mention All-American honors in the 5000m after placing 19th. Ewoi finished 10th in the 800m to earn second team All-American honors.
