2006 Track & Field: Earned Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team honors...posted a career best in the mile with a 6:04.82 mark at the Liberty Record Bash during the indoor season… set two personal records during the outdoor season in the 800m and the 5000m…set her personal record in the 800m during the Coastal Carolina Invitational with a time of 2:43.91…the 5000m time was 20:56.40 at the Winthrop Track Invitational.

2005 Cross Country: Earned Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team honors...ran at the Southeast NCAA Regional Cross Country Meet with a time of 28:22.20…ran a season-best 22:24 at the Atlantic Sun Championships...season best in the 4k came at the Winthrop Fall Classic with a time of 18:20.10…finished the 5k came Great American Cross Country Festival with a time of  23:07.60…competed in every race on the season

2005 Track & Field:Highest finish was seventh as she posted a 1:14.32 at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational for her best 400 meter time of her college career… Also recorded a career best 2:49.31 in the indoor 800M event at the North Carolina Classic and took 10 seconds off her previous best by turning in a 2:44.79 at the Duke Invitational… Showed marked improvement in the 1500M as she shaved over 30 seconds off her time from the beginning of the season to the end… also ran the mile for the Camels.

2004 Cross Country:
Earned A-Sun All-Academic Team honors for a second consecutive season… Recorded her best finish at the Campbell Invitational 4K (21)... Competed in five races for the Campbell team… Best 5k time was 23:33 at the Winthrop Invitational…Posted a top-50 finish at the North Carolina Intercollegiate Championships (39).

2004 Track & Field:
Named to the A-Sun All-Academic Team … set outdoor season-best marks in the 400 meters (1:15.06) at the Raleigh Relays (3/26) and in the 800 meters (2:54.76) at the Carolina Fast Times Meet (4/9) … competed in five meets during the outdoor season … set personal-best marks during the indoor season in the 400 meters (1:19.79) at the North Carolina Invitational (1/31) and in the 800 meters (3:01.47) at the Carolina Classic (2/7) … the North Carolina Invitational was her first competition at the collegiate level.

2003 Cross Country:
Member of the A-Sun All Academic team … competed in four races for Campbell in her first year … made collegiate debut at Campbell Invitational (8/30) running a 21:44 4K … posted a season-best 25:09 5K at the A-Sun Championships (11/1).

Prep:
Valedictorian of her graduating class … female academic athlete … 2003 Most Improved Player (softball).

Full name is Melissa Lynn Cooper … born on Nov. 21, 1984 in Ft. Benning, Ga. … daughter of Danny and Margaret Cooper … has two siblings, Joanna and Matt … intended major at Campbell is pre-pharmacy.
