Todd Bradley enters his fourth season as head coach of the Fighting Camels' softball program in 2017-18. Bradley was named the head softball coach in a June 9, 2014, announcement by Athletics Director Bob Roller.
In Bradley's third season (2017), Campbell finished second in the Big South with a 13-8 conference record. The Camels finished the year with a 29-29 mark and a postseason appearance in the inaugural National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC).Â
Amber Schisler collected the program's first CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team honor since 2001. She was also named to the NFCA Third Team All-District and the Big South First Team. She was named the 2017 Big South Player of the Year. Along with Schisler, Taesha DuBoise earned first team honors and Katie Baker and Bailey Bjorson were named to the honorable mention all-conference team. Baker also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2017. Â
During his second season (2016), the Camels finished as runner-up in the Big South Championship as the No. 5 seed. Campbell finished the season with a 28-31 overall record.Â
Four Camels earned Big South honors, including first team accolades for Schisler and Rachel McCollum. Schisler also earned all-state second team honors. Tori Griffin received the Christenberry Award from the Big South Conference. CU placed 10 on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll.Â
During the tournament, Campbell knocked off top-seeded Longwood, 5-2, before it dropped the championship game to the Lancers. Campbell also defeated Radford twice in the tournament, including an elimination game against Radford to advance to the final.Â
In his first season at the helm, the Campbell softball program finished the 2015 season with a 28-27 record, including a seven-game winning streak to close out the regular season. Four players from the squad were named to the NCCSIA all-state teams, including three on the first team.
Bradley helped to guide the Camels to a 70-46 record as an assistant coach in 2013 and associate head coach in 2014. He was elevated to the top position in the summer of 2014, replacing Drew Peterson, who served as the head coach from 2001-14.
Campbell earned consecutive berths in the Big South Championship in 2013 and 2014, as well as amassing a 31-16 league record. The 2013 squad set a school record for conference regular season victories (18) en route to a runner-up finish in the Big South. In 2013, five Camels earned all-conference honors and Courtney Klingler was named the Big South Freshman of the Year.
As an assistant coach in 2013, Bradley oversaw the team's hitters and played a part in recruiting, as well as the daily operations of the program. He helped lead the 2013 Camel squad to a .300 batting average, the second highest in school history. The 2014 squad set a new school record for team fielding percentage (.966), despite injuries to several key players.
Bradley joined the Camels after serving as a head coach at the Division II level for six years. He came to Campbell after a three-year stay at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, from 2010-12. The two-time Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year ended his time with the Cardinals with an overall record of 87-73, the third best record in program history.
The 2012 squad went 29-25 and was the co-champion of the Lone Star Conference. The team notched an overall batting average of .298 and 40 home runs during the season. The Cardinals captured the Lone Star tournament title and made an appearance at the NCAA DII Regionals in Edmond, Okla.
In 2011, his team finished 31-23 with a team batting average of .304 and 117 extra base knocks. Incarnate Word posted a 27-24 record during his first year with the program in 2010.
Bradley worked as the head coach at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C., from 2007-09. The Falcons amassed a record of 83-67 during his three years with the program. The 2008 squad won 30 games for the first time in program history and Pfeiffer made its first-ever trip to the NCAA Division II tournament. The team advanced from sixth to fourth to third in the Conference Carolinas standings during his tenure.Â
From 2005-06, he served as an assistant coach at Utah State, where he focused on hitting and outfield play. Bradley was also a major part of Aggies' recruiting efforts and helped to coordinate travel and summer camps.
Bradley started the softball program at his alma mater, Western Baptist College (now Corban University), in 2004. During the Warriors' inaugural season, he lead the team to a 20-25 record.
The Pendleton, Ore., native began his coaching career at Blue Mountain Community College, which is located in his hometown. Bradley started the Timberwolves' softball program and led the team to a 81-78 mark during his four years with the team (2000-04).
He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports and fitness management from Western Baptist College in 1999. He married the former Erica Baty in June of 2016 and the couple resides in Angier, N.C.
