Freshman (2011): Named to the Atlantic Sun’s All-Academic Team… earned NFCA Scholar-Athlete Team honors…had two hits, two walks, three runs scored and two RBIs in 2011…played in 16 games…pinch ran and scored a run against Southern Miss (2/18)…pinch hit against McNeese State (2/19)…pinch ran against Howard (3/12) and scored a run….was hit by a pitch to drive in a run against Hampton (4/6)…also walked and played first base against the Pirates…doubled and played left field against N.C. Central (4/25)…pinch ran against Lipscomb in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.

Prep/Personal: Was a four-year letterwinner at St. Mark’s High School in Delaware…in 2009 she hit .429 with three triples, 12 doubles and a home run…also scored 23 runs and stole 11 bases…was a two-time second team All-Catholic Conference selection…in 2010 she hit .382 with a .477 on-base percentage…also stole eight bases and was a First Team All-Catholic Conference selection…Second Team All-State in her final season…voted her team’s captain as a senior…named St. Mark’s High School Player of the Year as a senior…also participated in volleyball and track during her high school career…played for the New Jersey Breakers Gold during summers through junior year…the Breakers went undefeated in Region 3 in 2009 and advanced to the ASA Gold Nationals…in 2010 she played for the State of Delaware Blue Gold All-Star Team…full name is Katie Elizabeth Andrews...born 5/26/92 in Wilmington, Delaware…daughter of James and Susan Andrews…has a younger sister, Kristina…majoring in pre-pharmacy.
