Campbell University cross country and track & field head coach Michael Kelly announced the addition of Gabby Gaudreault to his staff on August 3, 2018.
Gaudreault arrives in Buies Creek from Clemson University where she had served as a graduate assistant with the track & field and cross country programs since January of 2017, assisting with the Tigers’ middle distance unit.
Concurrently, she earned her Master’s Degree in Food, Nutrition, and Culinary Science with a concentration in Dietetics.
“I was very impressed with Gabby’s background in nutrition, strength and conditioning, and track & field,” said Kelly. “It is obvious she is very knowledgeable and passionate about being a coach and we are excited to have her as part of our staff.”
At Campbell, Gaudreault assists Kelly in all aspects of the men’s and women’s distance group and will play a major role in recruiting for those squads.
“I am very excited to be joining the cross country and track & field at staff Campbell,” said Gaudreault.“Coach Kelly and the staff have done an outstanding job leading and developing this program and I am honored to be a part of it. I look forward to contributing to the legacy of success here at Campbell.”
The Camels’ distance group enters the 2018-19 season on a run of unprecedented success. Led by returning All-America performers Amon Kemboi and Lawrence Kipkoech, the men’s cross country team earned its third consecutive Big South title in 2017. Big South runners-up as season ago, the women’s squad will welcome back all three of its first-team all-conference selections.
Kemboi and Kipoech also garnered All-America honors during the indoor and outdoor seasons, helping the Camels to a second-place conference finish in each season.
Prior to her time as a graduate assistant, Gaudreault served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Tigers from April through December of 2016. The Leominster, Mass., native also worked as a strength & conditioning intern for Clemson’s Olympics sports programs from May through November of 2015.
A two-time NCAA All-American in the 800m, Gaudreault graduated from Springfield (Mass.) College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Exercise Science in 2014.
She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and received the Track and Field Technical Certification via USTFCCCA.
