Mikayla Bellucco heads into her third season as an assistant coach on the Campbell women’s lacrosse staff in 2022.
Bellucco came to Campbell prior to the 2020 season after serving as head coach at the University of Bridgeport for two seasons (2018-19).
In a shortened 2020 season, the Camels proved to be one of the most exciting young offenses in the Big South, paced by the redshirt freshman duo of Megan Matthews and Julianna Sanchez, who combined for 49 points during the abbreviated year.
Campbell posted one of its most successful seasons in the program’s short history in 2021, earning the No. 2 seed in the Big South tournament, matching the program’s highest seeding in school history (2017), going 5-1 in conference play during the regular season. In addition to Campbell's 10 school records set in 2021, seven Camels, another program record, were named to the Big South's all-conference teams.
At Bridgeport, Bellucco led the Purple Knights to their first East Coast Conference tournament appearance in 2019, reaching the quarterfinals.
She coached three All-East Coast performers in two seasons, coaching her student-athletes to UB records in career points, career assists, single season assists, single season points, single game goals, single game assists and single game points marks.
Bellucco also served as an assistant coach at Bridgeport during the 2016-17 school year before being elevated to head coach following the 2017 season.
The Oswego, N.Y. native also has head coaching experience at the club level with Nor’Easter, Connecticut Grizzlies, Westport PAL and Central NY Elite. In 2015, Bellucco was a team intern for the Rochester Rattlers in Major League Lacrosse.
A 2016 graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a business administration degree, Bellucco was a four-year standout on the lacrosse field for the Bonnies, leading the team in points for three straight seasons and serving as team captain her junior and senior years. She finished her career ranked third on the school's career assist list, eighth in career points, and seventh in single-season assists.
Bellucco completed her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing at Bridgeport in 2018. She and her husband, Tom, were married in November 2020.
