2006-07: Earned CAA Academic All-Conference honors...Did not wrestle..

 

2005-06: Finished the season with a 5-8 record in tournaments...did not wrestle in a dual...had three victories at the UNC Pembroke Open...pinned Alex Zea of Spartanburg Methodist at 2:41 for his lone pin of the year...

 

Prep/Personal: Matthew Michael King was a four-time all-conference selection while wrestling for the two-time district and three-time conference champion Spartans... he was a four-time top-15 placer in the state meet finishing as high as seventh in his senior season... was four-time conference champion and three-time sectional runner-up before breaking through and winning the 125 lbs. weight class as a senior team captain... was selected freshman of the year at the beginning of his career that saw him notch 294 takedowns with a  record of 129-40, the second most victories in school history... he also played two seasons of football... academically earned first and second honors throughout high school...  the son of Michael Patrick and Ellen King, he was born July 3, 1987 in St. Louis, Mo... a criminal justice major at Campbell...
