Erik Losey moves to tight ends after coaching the Campbellrunning backs during the 2012 season.
In his first season in Buies Creek, Losey tutored the CU runningbacks unit that produced freshman fullback Dalton Dillon, whoearned Second Team All-PFL honors. Junior running back Kurt Odom,who ranked eighth in the conference in rushing, also set a Campbellsingle game record with 195 all-purpose yards and tied the CU markfor most rushing yards in a game with 170 at Morehead State.
With Losey’s guidance, the Camels ranked fifth in the PFLin rushing at 149.3 yards per game, posting 200-plus yard games onfour occasions.
Losey came to Campbell from Webber International where the hecoached the offensive line for one season. At WIU, Losey was alsoresponsible for writing up the Warriors’ run game.
Prior to WIU, Losey assisted at Florida State, working as anoffensive quality control coach under offensive line coach RickTrickett from February 2009 through January 2011. Losey wasresponsible for opponent breakdown, practice preparation, runningthe defensive scout team and charting opponent defensive tendencieson game days.
The Hixson, Tenn. native began his coaching career at WesternKentucky as an offensive graduate assistant, primarily guiding theoffensive line in various capacities.
Losey enjoyed a decorated playing career at both East TennesseeState, where he played under former Campbell head coach Dale Steelein 2003, and Western Kentucky, starting all 47 games of his collegecareer.
He began his college playing career at ETSU in 2002, where hewas a Southern Conference Freshman of the Year nominee. After the2003 season, ETSU discontinued its football program and Loseytransferred to WKU.
Losey was a Second Team All-Gateway Conference and All-NewcomerTeam performer in 2004. As a senior, Losey was voted to AmericanFootball Coaches Association First Team All-American and AssociatedPress Third Team All-American.
In addition to gaining All-American status in 2005, Losey wasnamed First Team All-Gateway Conference, while receiving NationalLineman of the Week and conference Player of the Week accoladesduring the season.
He graduated from WKU with a double major in history and socialstudies in 2006.
