Troy State Runs By Campbell

CREEK, N.C. - Troy State knocked down 14 three-point field goals,
including five in a pivotal 19-0 run, and went on to a 100-75
Atlantic Sun Conference men's basketball win over Campbell
University on Saturday at Carter Gym.
The Trojans (17-4, 8-1) connected on 14-of-40 from long range
and grabbed a 53-34 edge on the boards (24-10 in the second half)
while winning their fifth-straight game and their ninth in the last
10 outings.
Campbell (4-15, 1-8) committed four of its 10 first-half
turnovers during the pivotal 5:31 scoreless stretch midway through
the opening period. Troy State took a 47-27 lead into the dressing
room and the Camels were unable to get closer than 15 in the final
half.
Ben Fletcher led Troy
State with a game-high 24 points, including six treys - three
during TSU's big run. Marcus Milhouse added 15 points and nine
rebounds, while Rob Lewin had 14 points, 14 boards and six blocked
shots. Herbert Evans (14) and Kendrick Johnson (13) each came off
the Trojan bench to score in double figures.
Tarick Johnson led Campbell, which dropped its fourth-straight
game, with 21 points, seven rebounds and a career-high five
assists. Robby Dupre came off the bench to score 15 points - all
in the second half - and pull down a team-high eight rebounds.
Brooks Lee dealt seven assists.
Troy State shot 47 percent (39-83) from the floor, 55 percent
(21-38) in the second half. The Trojans made 8-of-9 free throws
(.889), blocked 10 shots and made 12 steals.
Campbell shot 50 percent (16-32) from the floor in the second
half, but just 41 percent (27-66) for the game after making just
11-of-34 in the first period. The Camels made 10-of-24 (.417) from
3-point range and hit 11-of-15 foul shots (.733).
Campbell concludes its three-game home stand on Tuesday in a
7:00 p.m. tip-off against the University of Central Florida at
