Leads Georgia State Past Campbell

CREEK, N.C. Lamont McIntosh tied his career high with 27
points to lead Georgia State to an 88-72 Atlantic Sun Conference
men's basketball victory over Campbell on Thursday night at Carter
Gym.
McIntosh hit his first seven shots, including five threes, and
made 10-of-12 shots on the night, including 5-of-6 threes. Nate
Williams added 21 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, while Leroy
Davis and Herman Favors contributed 11 each for the Panthers
(12-14, 7-8).
Tarick Johnson led Campbell (5-21, 1-14) with 15 points.
Dominique Klein came off the bench to add 14, while Jonte' Edwards
had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Corey Parker finished with
10.
McIntosh scored 19 points and the Panthers shot 59 percent
(17-29) from the floor in the first 20 minutes to take a 43-34
advantage at the break. A 9-0 GSU run, capped by a pair of treys
from McIntosh, turned a 13-12 GSU deficit into a 21-13 edge.
Johnson's jumper brought CU within seven at 65-58 with 7:47
remaining, but Favors knocked down a three from the right wing and
the Camels were unable to get within single digits again.
Georgia State shot 54.8 percent (34-62) from the field and
made 9-of-18 threes, while canning 11-of-13 from the stripe. The
Camels hit 43 percent (25-58) of their shots, 7-of-21 from
three-point territory, and 15-of-21 (.714) from the line. GSU held
a 36-30 edge on the glass.
Campbell concludes its season on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when
the Fighting Camels host Jacksonville State. The contest marks the
final game in a CU uniform for seniors Edwards, Brooks Lee and
Solomon Yearby. Georgia State travels to Gardner-Webb for a 7:30
p.m. tip-off on Saturday. [Box Score]
