George Mason Downs
Campbell 49-4; Lantz Nixon Earns Win on Senior
Night
BUIES CREEK, N.C.
George Mason won nine of the 10 matches on the night to take
a 49-4 decision over Campbell in Colonial Athletic Association
wrestling action Friday night at Carter Gym.
George Mason won four
bouts by fall, three more by tech fall and one by major decision.
Harry Zander (197-lbs.), Ryan Kittrick (HWT), Robert Henry
(149-lbs.) and Randy Oates (165-lbs.) won their matches by
fall.
David Emison
(133-lbs.), Jay Chichester (141-lbs.) and Mitch Webster (157-lbs.)
took their bouts by technical fall for the Patriots.
Campbell's only win
came in the 184-pound match as Lantz Nixon earned a 13-4 major
decision victory over Matt Horton. The win came in the final bout
at Carter Gym for Nixon, a senior from Akron, Ohio. Fellow senior
Brian Hocum, a native of Clarkston, Wash., also competed in his
final match in Buies Creek.
The Camels (2-13,
1-7 CAA) return to action Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. match at Duke.
George Mason (7-6, 4-3 CAA) is next in action at Maryland on
