Campbell Sweeps Catawba 7-0
BUIES
CREEK, N.C. Campbell did not lose a set
in a 7-0 sweep of Division II Catawba in men's tennis action on
Wednesday at the Nisbet Tennis Center. The match was a make-up
date for a Feb. 14 between Campbell and Catawba (8-9) that was
rained out.
Campbell senior Martin Parkes
extended his singles win streak to nine-straight matches with a
6-1, 6-4 victory over Geoff Fouad at number-five. Parkes improved
to 15-3 on the year in singles and moved to 15-6 in doubles with
his partner Sergio Tejada.
Senior Zorick Toltsan
won his 56th career singles match and team-leading 18th of the
season with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at number-four over Alvin
Owusu.
Florent Wilpotte,
Carlos Campo, Ryan Mills and Artoym Starkov also notched
straight-sets singles wins for Campbell (9-7).
Campbell hosts Charlotte on
Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
