Defeats Campbell 87-61 In Atlantic Sun Men's

Dixon scored 18 points to lead Troy to an 87-61 Atlantic Sun
Conference victory over Campbell Monday night at Trojan Arena.
The Trojans (8-11, 6-4) converted 24 Campbell turnovers into 34
points and canned 12 three-point shots while winning their
third-straight game.
Troy entered the game leading the nation in three-point field
goals made per game (11.1) after setting a Division I record last
year (11.7).
Dixon hit 4-8 triples and has made 19 of his last 27 attempts
from long range. Jacob Hazouri and Richard Damus added 12 and Ryan
Heck 10 for Troy, which made 12-30 triples, shot 46 percent from
the field and made 15-16 free throws.
Maurice Latham scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for
this fourth double-double to lead Campbell (2-15, 0-10), which lost
its 12th game in a row. Jake Wohlfeil added a season-high 12 on 4
threes, while Comerlee Poole had 10 points and 13 rebounds -- his
fourth double-double of the year.
Troy led 54-29 at half-time, converting 12 Campbell miscues in
the opening 20 minutes into 21 points. The Trojans broke to a 26-6
lead in the first 5:28, connecting on 6 of their first 8
three-point attempts.
The Trojans shot 51.4 percent from the floor in the first
period, hitting 8-17 threes and 10-10 from the stripe. Campbell,
by contrast, hit just 39 percent from the field in the first half,
4-9 triples and only 1-6 from the line.
Campbell is 0-13 all-time vs. Troy and has dropped its last 28
Atlantic Sun Conference road outings.
Campbell finished the game hitting just 39 percent (23-59) of
its shots, 8-21 from 3-point territory (.381) and 7-14 foul
shots.
The Camels return to action Saturday in a 2:00 p.m. tip-off at
