Campbell Blanks Winston-Salem State 7-0

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-The Campbell men's tennis team did not drop a single set Saturday afternoon as it defeated Winston-Salem State 7-0 at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

With their second win of the day, the Fighting Camels improved their record to 5-5. The Rams fell to 1-5.

Several players earned victories in doubles and singles matches in the team's third-straight win.

Marc Sifre improved his season record to 8-6 with his 6-1, 6-0 win at number-one. Earlier in the afternoon, the junior teamed with Beto Mondini to claim an 8-0 doubles victory at number-two.

Mondini, a freshman from Salvador-Bahia, Brazil, also earned a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory at number-three. Sophomore Sebastian Thesleff improved his singles record to 8-1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number-four. The Lund, Sweden native teamed with Brent Darden to claim the number-three doubles match, 8-1.

Darden had another successful singles match, earning his second-straight victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number-six.
Junior Gabriel Delarue did not drop a single game in his 6-0, 6-0 victory at number-two singles. Delarue's record improved to 8-6 on the year.

Also earning a singles victory was freshman Alexandre Duval, with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at number-five.

In doubles action, Artoym Starkov and Vasja Gorjup claimed their second-straight win, an 8-1 victory at number-one.

The Fighting Camels return to action on Wednesday when they take on Liberty at the Nisbet Tennis Center. Matches are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
