recorded the first two outs of the inning, Allison Presnell singled
back up the middle and stole second putting herself in scoring
position for Smith. Presnell's single was just the second of the
game for NC State and first since the opening inning.
NC State jumped out
quickly in the nightcap with a two-run homer by Jennifer Patterson
to left field. Presnell led off the inning with a double down the
line in left setting up Patterson's fourth blast of the season.

defensive exhibition in the top of the third inning with Shayla
Cullum diving to her left and throwing from her knees to record the
first out of the inning and Stephenie Pappas scooped a line drive
one-hopper and threw out the speedster Blair Harkey for the third
out.
Campbell got its first
base runner of the doubleheader in the bottom of the fourth when
Jessica Huffman reached on an error by the NC State second baseman.
The senior then proceeded to steal her 42nd base of the
season; she entered the week ranked 10th in the nation

thrown out at the plate. Courtney Quinn led off the inning with
CU's first hit of the day and then Stanley drew a two-out walk
putting runners on first and second. Megan Paul battled at the
plate fouling off several pitches before singled through the right
side of the infield. Quinn tried to score all the way from second
on the play but was thrown out at the plate by the right fielder
Ashleigh Davis.
