Sophomore (2006): Finished with a career-high win total going 17-14 on the season with a 1.83 ERA…set the Campbell single-season strikeout record with 166…didn’t allow an earned run over the first 23 1/3 innings of the season…set a career-high with 11 strikeouts in a seven inning 2-1 victory over Mercer…tied for the A-Sun lead in innings pitched with 206.2 on the season…named Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week on February 20 after posting a 3-1 record with a 0.77 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 27 1/3 innings of work…named Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week for the second time on April 17 after going 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 21.0 innings of work, all coming against conference opponents…named to the NFCA Scholar-Athlete Team and the A-Sun All-Academic Team…posted the fourth-highest shutout total in Campbell history with six…caught 50 batters looking at strike three, the third-highest total in the Atlantic Sun…had six or more strikeouts in 14 games…averaged 5.62 strikeouts per seven innings of work…posted a 3.13 K/BB ratio and 0.80 strikeouts per inning…allowed three or fewer hits in eight starts, including a two-hitter against Mercer in the opening round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament…allowed two of fewer earned runs in 20 of her 30 starts…went 10.0 innings with 10 strike outs in 2-1 victory over Belmont; she allowed just four hits and two walks in the game…struck out eight batters in three-consecutive starts (Florida International, Seton Hall and Bethune-Cookman)…had complete games in 24 of her 30 starts…came out of the bullpen on six occasions
Freshman (2005): Made 29 appearances with 16 starts in her rookie season for the Camels going 11-8…threw Campbell’s fifth-ever no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Appalachian State, she struck out six batters and walked none…she won five of her first six decisions, including a victory over Virginia …allowed just 32 earned runs in 114 2/3 innings of work for a 1.95 ERA…struck out a career-best 10 batters against Jacksonville…had eight strikeouts three times (S.C. State, Troy, Belmont)
Prep/Personal: A four-year letterwinner for coach Craig Rogers at nearby Harnett Central High School… a four-time All-Conference performer and two-time League MVP following her junior and senior seasons… led the Trojans to three-consecutive conference championships and two trips to the State Tournament Final Four as a junior and senior… a two-time All-State performer… finished as the State 3A “Miss Softball” runner-up twice… set a new NCHSAA record for 113 scoreless innings pitched… finished her senior season with a 0.30 ERA and 386 strikeouts…full name is Lauren Ashley Caviness… born on July 4, 1986… daughter of Kelly and Glenwood Martin Caviness, Jr… has one brother, Joshua (15)… also lettered in volleyball at Harnett Central… majoring in pre-pharmacy
