JACKSONVILLE,
Fla. Campbell's football team (0-3, 0-1 PFL) dropped its
third game of the season by a 52-0 score to Pioneer Football League
rival Jacksonville (2-1, 1-0 PFL) on Saturday, Sept. 13 at D.B.
Milne Field.
Jacksonville
started the game on an eight play 69-yard drive that covered 2:07
and was finished by Rudell Small's
14-yard touchdown run to give the team a 7-0 lead at the 12:53 mark
of the first quarter.
After
a three-and-out by the CU offense, Jacksonville's offense promptly
got back in gear and went on a five play drive that covered 90
yards and was finished on a 45-yard bomb from Josh
McGregor to Tommie Rogers to
give the Dolphins a 14-point lead with 9:18 to play in the first
quarter.
After
a failed fourth down by the Campbell offense, JU took over and
marched down the field to the Campbell 19-yard line before Erik Feliciano picked off McGregor at the CU goal
line. For Campbell it was the first interception of the season.
JU's
special teams got in the act next with Elliot
Finkley returning a punt for a 57-yard touchdown to give
Jacksonville a 21-0 lead with 1:56 left in the first quarter.
Finkley's return was his second of the season, which ties the JU
season record.
In
the second quarter, Jacksonville's offense continued to impress and
went on another touchdown drive. The JU offense's four play and
46-yard drive was capped off by another McGregor touchdown pass,
this one to Finkley with 11:14 left in the second stanza.
The
Dolphins tacked on a field goal and two more touchdowns before the
half to make the score 45-0 at the break. Campbell was led by
Reshaun Brown's 40 yards rushing in the
first half.
The
Dolphins' Keith Dawson reeled off a
64-yard run to end the third quarter and give JU a 52-0 lead after
the made extra point from Josh
Hostetler.
Brown led
Campbell with 66 yards rushing for the game. JU offensive attacked
was lead by Small's 150 yards on the ground. The Dolphins also had
a strong aerial attack with McGregor throwing for 343 yards and
three scores. CU linebacker Milton Brown
led both teams with his seven tackles. He also had a sack and a
pass defense. Jacksonville
had a school-record 621 yards on the day.

Campbell
now returns home to take on San Diego (2-0) in the home conference
opener on Sept. 20 at noon at Barker-Lane Stadium.
