MOREHEAD, Ky. - Campbell's football team (3-8, 2-6 Pioneer
Football League) had another hard fought loss in a double overtime
defeat to Morehead State (5-6, 4-4 PFL) on Saturday, Nov. 20 in
Morehead, Kentucky. The Camels ran for 244 yards and held the ball
for 34:06 in the loss. CU ended the season with 2,285 yards rushing
on the season to set a new school record.
Campbell's offensive attack was led by junior Rashaun
Brown's 113 yards on the ground. C.J.
Oates was able to run for 36 yards and a touchdown. Redshirt
senior Lee Stanley led the CU defense with eight tackles. Morehead
State's Zach Lewis completed 32 passes for 322 yards and both a
rushing and passing touchdown. Tony Bachman totaled 19 tackles for
MSU.
In the game's second overtime, Morehead State's defense was able to
force a missed field goal attempt and the Eagles offense quickly
capitalized as Adam Slupski ran it from three-yards out for a 30-24
victory. The overtime loss for Campbell was the second in the
team's brief history.
After a scoreless first quarter, Morehead State scored on their
first possession of the second stanza on a 12 play, 71-yard drive
complete on the eight-yard touchdown pass from Lewis to Desmond
Cox. The extra point by Rainer Duzan was good to make the score 7-0
Eagles with 7:53 remaining in the second quarter.
The Camels tied the game up on the next possession and marched down
the field on a 12 play, 61 yard drive that covered 7:23 in game
time. The drive was finished on redshirt senior Daniel
Polk's one-yard dive. The touchdown was Polk's 12th
rushing touchdown of the season. It also allowed him to account for
a touchdown in 19 of his 22 starts at quarterback. Redshirt junior

Willets knocked in the extra point to tie the game at seven
going into the break.
The Eagles grabbed a 10-7 lead early in third quarter on Duzan's
20-yard field goal. The big play of the drive was a 39-yard pass
from Lewis to Andre Williams.
CU took the lead back on the next drive as Polk completed a 10-yard
pass to redshirt senior Mike
Stryffeler. The touchdown catch was Stryffeler's fourth of the
season and broke the school record for touchdown catches in a
single season. Willets extra point was good to give Campbell a
14-10 lead with 3:17 remaining in the third quarter.
The Camels added a field goal to the lead and took 10 minutes off
the clock to start the fourth quarter. Willets completed the
18-play drive with a 27-yard field goal. His field goal was his
ninth of the season and tied his own school record.
The Eagles tied the game on the next possession on Blake Stanley's
two-yard rush. Duzan's extra point was good to tie the game at 17
with 2:00 minutes remaining. The first play of the drive for
Morehead State was a 50-yard completion to Ronnie McDermott that
changed field position and momentum.
In the first overtime session, Morehead State's Lewis rushed it in
from six-yards out. Duzan's extra point was good to make the score
24-17.
CU tied the game up their possession in overtime as C.J. Oates
scampered in from a yard out on fourth down at the goal line.
Willets' extra point was good to tie the game at 24 heading to the
second overtime period.
