GREENVILLE, N.C. – Campbell's swimming team (8-11, 6-5 CCSA) was downed by both East Carolina (193-101) and William & Mary (211-51) on Saturday afternoon at Minges Natatorium in Greenville, N.C. in the team's first competition over the last two months.
The Camels 400 medley relay team of freshman Sydney Postmus and sophomores Charlotte Cornet, Kylie Warne and Cheriesse Campbell placed third in their event with a time of 3:59.86.
Cornet had the team's highest individual finish and placed third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.37. Cornet also finished third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.41.
Cheriesse Campbell had an individual fourth-place finish in the 500 free (5:07.20)
Warne placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:11.15).
The CU 200 free relay team of freshman Larissa Joassaint, junior Kaitlyn Tunstall, Postmus and Cheriesse Campbell finished fifth in their event with a time of 1:41.52.
Next, the Camels return home for the final home meet of the season. CU will take on conference rival North Carolina A&T on Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. at the Johnson Aquatic Center in what will also be Senior Day for CU's Melissa Eller, Cameron Gorse, Emily Michael and Libby Sanderson.
