Box Score SAN DIEGO, CALIF.-San Diego senior running back Dallas Kessman rushed for 77 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Toreros past visiting Campbell 44-0 in Pioneer Football League action Saturday at Torero Stadium.
USD moves to 3-3 overall on the season and 2-1 in league play while Campbell dips to 1-5 and 0-3 in PFL games. USD leads the all-time series with the Camels 2-1 after CU topped last season's meeting 48-24.
Kessman, who came into Saturday's tilt with just six carries for 41 yards, rushed 16 times for a 4.8 per average to go along with his four scores, with three coming in the first half. Kessman added three catches for 19 yards in the win.
Redshirt junior Mason Mills was 19-for-20 passing for 217 yards, hitting Brandon White a team-high five times for 66 yards. Kenn James added 54 yards on the ground
Dustin Geyer paced the USD defense with seven tackles, while Michael Ruffino, Fred Obi and Steve Gargiulo registered five stops apiece. Tyler Cobbs tacked on a forced fumble for the Toreros.
Campbell junior running back Kurt Odom posted 24 yards on seven carries, while junior signal caller Dakota Wolf registered a 14-for-23 clip for 58 yards. AJ Artis gathered a team-best six catches for 16 yards, while Ben Bolling totaled 18 yards on four catches.
Steth Monroe, Colten Burris and Matt Farris all collected nine tackles for the Camels, while senior Paul Pizzuti posted seven stops. Lucas Smith added a fumble recovery.
The Camels will return to Buies Creek next weekend, hosting in-state PFL rival Davidson for CU Homecoming on Oct. 20. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
