Football Falls at Jacksonville 40-14

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Keith Dawson rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns to lead Jacksonville past Campbell 40-14 in Pioneer Football League action Saturday at D.B. Milne Field.

Jacksonville moves to 7-3 overall and 5-2 in PFL play, while the Camels fall to 1-9 and 0-7 in conference games.

Dawson carried 25 times on the day with a long of 38 yards. Eric Baker added 67 yards on the ground, while Johnnie Hicks posted 36 yards and a touchdown for the Dolphins. Trevius Folston and Steven Hughes combined for 170 passing yards, with Folston recording a 7-of-15 clip.

Michel Luidji led JU with five tackles, including two sacks, while Tre Davis, Anthony Joiner and Antonio McRae chipped in four apiece.

Dakota Wolf rushed 11 times for a team-high 51 yards and a touchdown, gathering 64 yards through the air on 9-of-17 passing with a score. Jordan Hildreth caught three passes for 24 yards.

Jeff Swinton led Campbell with nine tackles, including two sacks, adding a forced fumble in the loss. Avonte Williams and Justice Walker also registered nine stops for the Camels, while Andrew Yost notched eight.

Keith Dawson and Orlando Thomas each tallied first quarter touchdowns for Jacksonville, going up 14-0 with 7:13 to play in the opening frame.

Trailing 14-0 on fourth and one in the first, Dakota Wolf faked the handoff to the fullback, Dalton Dillon, and rushed off the left side for a 31-yard touchdown.

The Dolphins added 17 on a pair of touchdowns and a Dylan Lynch 28 yard field goal before the half, taking a 31-7 lead into the break.

Campbell added another score in the third, mounting an 11 play drive (6:15 used) that included a pair of fourth down conversions, including Dakota Wolf's 10-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Hildreth on fourth and goal.

Steven Hughes added a nine-yard touchdown run and Lynch tacked on a 33-yard field goal to cap a 40-14 JU win.

Campbell was 1-for-12 on third down conversions while converting 3-of-4 fourth down tries.

The Camels will close out the 2012 season next week, Nov. 17 at home, taking on Marist at 1 p.m. at Ed Gore Field at Barker-Lane Stadium.
