LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Lamont Middleton and Bruce Beckford scored 19 points each and hot-shooting North Carolina A&T defeated Campbell 85-60 Friday in the Global Sports Classic at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Adrian Powell (14), R.J. Buck (13) and Jean Louisme (13) also hit double-digits for the Aggies (2-4), who hit a season high for points and ended a 4-game losing streak by connecting on 60.8 percent (31-51) from the floor.

The Aggies led by as many as 31 down the stretch against Campbell (2-4), which made only 33.9 percent (20-59) from the field and just 5-of-26 (.192) from 3-point territory.

"I don't know how to put it other than we laid an egg," said Campbell head coach Robbie Laing.  "We were bad on both sides of the ball.  A&T wasn't just hot; we were giving them clean looks at the basket.  On the other end, we settled for jump shots against their match-up zone.  We weren't very focused and that wasn't a good combination."

Darren White, who entered the contest as the Big South Conference's leading scorer (24.8) was held to a season-low 12 points on 3-of-8 shooting.  Trey Freeman led the Camels with 13 points.

A&T rode a 15-3 run late in the first half to build a double-figure lead.  The Aggies led 43-29 at half-time after making 16-of-24 shots before the break.  Campbell was unable to cut the lead to single digits the rest of the way.

Beckford made all 8 of his shots from the field and pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds.  Middleton hit his first 5 shots and finished 7-of-11 from the floor, while Buck (4-4) and Powell (6-11) combined to shoot 10-of-15.

Antwon Oliver came off the bench to score 8 points and lead the Camels with 6 rebounds.

Campbell concludes its four-game road trip Saturday at 11 am (PST) against Northern Arizona.
