BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Nineteen standouts from Campbell's storied men's soccer history have been named to the 1990s All-Decade team in a poll of school officials, coaches and alumni.
The fourth of five all-decade teams announced during 2012 (Campbell's 50th varsity men's soccer season) includes All-Americans Toni Siikala and Pasi Kinturi, as well as seven other Camel players who earned All-South region honors.
Under the guidance of head coach Derrick Leeson (1991-2001), Campbell won two Big South Conference championships (1991, 1992) and finished as league runner-up three times (1993 Big South, 1995 and 1996 in the Atlantic Sun Conference).

Peter Barany (1997-2000, Norrkoping, Sweden) 3-time Atlantic Sun All-Conference team (1997, '98, '00); 4-time A-Sun All-Academic Team; Stands 23rd on school career scoring list with 57 points (26G, 5A)
Kurt Berger (1988-91, Fredericksburg, Va.) central defender set school records for starts in a season (21) and career (78); 1991 Big South all-tournament team; Helped lead team to Big South tournament championship (1991), plus '88 regular season title and '89 runner-up finish; 2-time Coaches Award winner; 2-time Big South Presidential Honor Roll.
Otis Burris (1998-2000, Scarborough, Tobago) Atlantic Sun All-Conference 1st team and all-tournament team defender/midfielder; 2-time A-Sun All-Academic team; 2000 Team MVP
Rodrigo Cagide (1988-91, Guadalajara, Mexico) '91 Big South 1st-team all-conference and all-tournament team; Helped lead team to '91 Big South title as well as '88 regular-season crown and '89 tournament runner-up finish; Only player in school Division I era to have 4 assists in one match (1991 vs. Appalachian State); Still ranks 18th on school career scoring list (23G, 21A, 67 pts. in 67 games); Also 4-time Big South singles and doubles tennis champion.
Pete Coleman (1990-93, Cary, N.C.) starting defender on '91 and '92 Big South tournament champion and '93 Big South regular season (tournament runner-up) teams; named to Big South all-conference 2nd-team; Appeared in 73 career matches and part of teams that won 49 contests in 4- years; '92 Coaches Award; '90 McVeigh Award.
Buddy Edwards (1991-95, Swansboro, N.C.) defender broke school record for career starts (79); 1995 2nd-team All-South region; 1995 1st-team Atlantic Sun all-conference and all-tournament team; 2-time Big South all-tournament team ('92, '93); Member of '92 Big South Championship and '93 Big South and '95 A-Sun runner-up teams; 1995 Brewster Award winner; 1993 and 1995 Coaches Award; '91 McVeigh Award.
Pat Gross (1992-93, Charlotte, N.C.) 2-time Big South all-tournament team ('92, '93) member; 1st-team all-conference '93; Helped lead team to Big South tournament ('92) and regular season ('93) titles; Set national record with 23 assists in '93.
Mathew Hooker (1993, '95-97, Billingham, England) 3-time Atlantic Sun all-conference 1st-team midfielder; '96 A-Sun all-tournament team; Played in 3 conference finals ('93, '95, '96); Big South regular season champ ('93); Still ranks 20th on school career scoring list (15G, 35A, 65 pts.); T4th on school career assists list (35).
Brian Hunter (1991-94, Swansboro, N.C.) 1993 Big South player of the year and All-South 1st-team forward who ranked 5th in the nation in scoring (23G, 10A, 56 pts.); 3-time Big South all-tournament team (1991, '92, '93) member, who helped lead team to consecutive Big South titles ('91, '92) and BSC runner-up ('93) finishes; 1st-team Big South all-conference ('93), 2nd-team Atlantic Sun all-conference ('94); 2-time team MVP ('93, '94); '94 Brewster Award; still stands 5th on school career scoring list (61G, 35A, 157 pts. in 78 games), 3rd in the Division I era (since '77).
Rami Kauppi (1989-92, Lahti, Finland) Only player in school Division I era to earn four 1st-team all-league honors; '91 and '92 Big South tournament MVP; 2-time All-South ('91, '92); 3-time Big South all-tournament ('89, '91, '92); Led team to back-to-back Big South titles ('91, '92), plus '89 BSC runner-up finish; 2-time team MVP; '89 McVeigh Award; ranked 10th in nation in scoring as a junior (16G, 9A, 41 pts.) and 3rd as a senior (20G, 11A, 51 pts.).
Pasi Kinturi (1994-98, Helsinki, Finland) 1996 All-American; 2-time All-South ('96, '98); 4-time Atlantic Sun all-conference (3-time 1st team); 2-time A-Sun all-tournament; Member of '95 and '96 A-Sun runner-up; '96 team MVP; 2-time A-Sun all-academic; 8th on school career scoring list (43G, 39A, 125 pts.).
Nick Lawler (1992-93, '95-96, Stockton-on-Tees, England) 2-time All-South midfielder/defender ('93, '95); 3-time all-conference ('93 Big South 1st team, '95 A-Sun 2nd team, '96 1st team) performer; 3-time conference all-tournament ('92, 93 Big South, '95, '96 A-Sun) team; Big South tournament ('92) and regular season ('93) champion; played in 4 conference finals ('92, '93, '95, '96).
Travis Maloy (1990-93, Raleigh, N.C.) starting keeper for '91 and '92 Big South tournament champs and '93 Big South regular season title winner (tournament runner-up); 2-time Big South all-tournament team ('91, '92); Big South all-conference 2nd-team ('93); School-record 0.73 goals-against average in '91; Career 1.33 GAA (4th in school history); 4-time Big South Presidential honor roll member.
Andrew Maughan (1994-97, Newcastle, England) All-South defender/midfielder and 1st-team Atlantic Sun all-conference selection in '97; '97 A-Sun all-tournament team; '96 A-Sun honorable mention all-conference; 1997 Team MVP and Brewster Award winner; '96 McVeigh Award; Presented 1999 North Carolina Governor's Award for Bravery and Heroism.
Ricky Mobley (1988-91, Swansboro, N.C.) 1991 All-South defender; 3-time Big South all-conference 1st-team ('89, '90, '91); Big South all-tournament team ('90, '91); Helped lead team to '88 Big South regular season title and '91 tournament crown, plus '89 runner-up finish; '88 McVeigh Award; 2-time Brewster Award winner; '91 Team MVP.
Anthony Peacock (1992-93, '95-96, Billingham, England) 1993 All-South defender; 2-time 1st-team all-conference ('93 Big South, '95 Atlantic Sun) choice; 3-time conference all-tournament team ('92, '93, '96); Big South tournament ('92) and regular season ('93) champion; Played in 4-conference finals ('92, '93, '95, '96); '92 McVeigh Award.
Will Poe (1995-98, Apex, N.C.) 2-time All-Conference performer (1996, '97), who was starting keeper on Campbell's back-to-back Atlantic Sun tournament finalist teams ('95, '96); 5-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic team member (including red-shirt year); 1998 team MVP and Brodin Award winner; still stands 3rd on school career list for goalkeeper starts (55), minutes (5040), 7th in GAA, 5th in saves (225).
Jack Robinson (1989-92, Riverside, N.J.) one of only 30 players in Campbell soccer history to record 50 career points (15G, 20A); starting midfielder on '91 and '92 Big South tournament championship team and '89 Big South runner-up; '92 Brewster Award.
Toni Siikala (1992-95, Seinajoki, Finland) 2-time All-American ('93, '95) and All-South forward, who still ranks 3rd among school career scoring leaders (68G, 27A, 163 pts.), tied for 1st in Division I era; Member of 1992 Big South championship team and 1993 Big South and '95 Atlantic Sun runner-up; 1995 Atlantic Sun player of the year; 3-time 1st-team all-conference ('93 Big South, '94 and '95 A-Sun) team; 2-time conference all-tournament ('93, '95) team; nation's 3rd-leading scorer in '93 (23G, 14A, 60 pts.) and country's top goal-scorer (25) in '95; Campbell Sports Hall of Fame inductee (2010).
