DELAND, FLA. – Brian Hudson's 11 yard go ahead touchdown run with 1:07 remaining lifted visiting Campbell over Stetson 19-18 Saturday at Spec Martin Stadium, giving the Camels their first Pioneer Football League win of the season.

Campbell moves to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in PFL games on the season, while Stetson dipped to 1-7 and 0-5 in conference play. The win snapped a six game losing streak in 2013 for Campbell and gave first year head coach Mike Minter his first conference victory. The PFL win was Campbell's first since Nov. 5, 2011 against Morehead State.

The Camels fell behind 18-7 with 5:12 left in the game with Ryan Tentler connecting with Rob Coggin for 61 yards and the score.

Jonathon Rogers answered back for Campbell on the ensuing kickoff, taking it 97 yards to make it 18-13 Hatters, with the two point try failing. The return for a touchdown marked the Camels second in its six season modern era, and the longest in program history. Brandon Chandler (2008-12) took Campbell's only other kickoff return for a touchdown against Valparaiso in 2008.

After holding the Hatters and forcing a punt, the Camels got the ball back with 3:04 on the clock on their own 32.

Campbell faced a fourth and nine from its own 44 with 1:44 to play when Hudson tucked and ran 10 yards to the right sideline to keep the drive alive.

Consecutive completions to Jordan Hildreth for 19 yards and to Kurt Odom for another 16 gave CU first and 10 on the Stetson 11, setting up Hudson for the eventual game winner.

Isaac Scott's sack with time expiring secured the 19-18 Campbell win.

Hudson, who broke the Campbell single season rushing record with 92 on the day, added 111 yards passing on 16-of-26 attempts. Hudson broke Carl Smith's (2008-11) CU single season rushing record (677 in 2011) after coming into the game tied, now with 759 yards this season.

Keith Goss added 46 yards on eight carries, while Odom tacked on 33 on six attempts. Dalton Dillon tallied his second touchdown of the season, adding 26 yards on eight carries.

Jabri Ridenhour led all Campbell receivers with four catches for 40 yards. Odom also grabbed four receptions for 27 yards.

Nick Drew paced the Campbell defense with seven tackles, while Ugonna Awuruonye and Isaac Scott both registered six with two sacks apiece. The Camels gathered five total sacks with Taurean Lynch tacking on another, and 13 tackles for loss. Campbell's 13 stops for loss is the second most in single game history, while its five sacks ranks third.

After Campbell stopped Stetson on fourth and goal inside the CU one yard line, the Hatters stuffed the Camel rush in the endzone for a safety with a minute remaining in the first quarter.

James LaGamma added a 40 yard field goal for the Hatters as time expired in the first half, making it 5-0 Stetson.

After the Campbell defense stopped Stetson on its opening drive of the second half, Brian Hudson connected with Jabri Ridenhour for a 38 yard completion, down to the Hatter 20. The play set up five straight runs for the Camels, chipping down to the three yard line before Dalton Dillon's touchdown run to give CU a 7-5 lead.

Ryan Tentler threw for 220 yards and a touchdown on 16-of-26 attempts while rushing for 33 and another score. Rob Coggin caught six passes for 113 yards and a touchdown for the Hatters, including a long of 61 yards.

Donald Payne recorded 15 tackles with one for loss and a fumble recovery, while Davion Bell posted 11 with a sack.

The Camels will return home for the final time in 2013 next Saturday, taking on Marist at Barker-Lane Stadium at 1 p.m.
